The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday morning raided the Mumbai residence of industrialist Anil Ambani in connection with a Rs 17,000 crore bank fraud case.
Officers reached Ambani’s residence in Seawind, Cuffe Parade, around 7 am. According to sources, “seven to eight officers” reached the area and have been conducting searches since then.
Ambani and his family are present at the residence while the searches are underway.
The CBI action comes as part of its investigation into the alleged bank fraud case, with the agency expanding its probe into companies linked to the Reliance ADA Group.
Earlier on August 4, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) widened its investigation into the alleged Rs 17,000 crore loan fraud case involving Anil Ambani’s companies.
