Mumbai – Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. announced a robust 16% growth in its overall auto sales for September 2025, with total sales reaching 1,00,298 vehicles. The company’s Farm Equipment Sector was a standout performer, reporting an exceptional 50% surge in domestic tractor sales.

The Mahindra SUV automotive division saw healthy growth across segments. The Utility Vehicles segment sold 56,233 units in the domestic market, marking a 10% increase. The Commercial Vehicles segment also witnessed a strong performance with an 18% rise in domestic sales. Company officials attributed the positive momentum to the benefits of GST 2.0 and strong demand spurred by the Navratri festival, which began in September this year. During the initial nine days of the festival, retail growth for SUVs and Commercial Vehicles exceeded 60% and 70%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Mahindra tractor business
The highlight of the month was the stellar performance of the Mahindra tractor business. Domestic tractor sales climbed to 64,946 units, a significant 50% increase from the 43,201 units sold in September 2024. This record-breaking performance was fueled by recent GST rate cuts, a positive Kharif outlook, an above-normal monsoon, and the early onset of the festive season. Total tractor sales, including exports, stood at 66,111 units, a 49% increase year-over-year.
Mahindra Management Commentary
The Mahindra GST benefits management has expressed satisfaction on the numbers. The CEO of Automotive division, Mr Nalinikanth Gollagunta cited that SUV sales drove the overall sales as these were supported by Navratri boost and the demand was more than 60% than usual. On the other hand, Veejay Nakra, the President of the Farm Equipment division suggested that the sales for tractors went up by 50% (year on year) which was aided by positive kharif outlook, strong monsson and GST cuts.
